Back-to-back losses drop FSU to 15th in AP Top 25; 16th in Coaches Poll
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -- Back-to-back losses last week caused Florida State Men's Basketball to drop from sixth to 15th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The Seminoles also dropped from eighth to 16th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
In a wild week that saw losses from seven of the top 10 teams, including three of those that lost twice, the Seminoles lost road games to Georgia Tech, 78-56, and to Syracuse, 82-72. The losses come after Florida State navigated it's way through a tough six-game stretch of ACC schedule with a 5-1 record.
Florida State now hasn't won a game since beating Louisville at home on January 21, Louisville has since jumped up to a No. 6 ranking, the highest in the ACC.
FSU finishes a three-game road trip at Miami on Wednesday before heading back to Tallahassee to play host to Clemson on Sunday.
Gonzaga, who is the only undefeated team left in college basketball this season, checks in No. 1. Baylor, Kansas, Villanova, and Arizona round out the top five.
Five other ACC teams aside from FSU found themselves in the latest rankings: Louisville (No. 6), Virginia (No. 9), North Carolina (No. 12), Notre Dame (No. 20), and Duke (No. 21).
