WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (Gray News) – An unlikely duo of best friends has found their forever home.
Cinnamon the goat and Felix the dog came to the Wake County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on March 13 after their owner became unable to care for them any longer, the shelter said.
The goat and dog due who have formed a strong bond will be living out their years together at a local farm.
“I’m so excited they will be living their dream life in Johnston County with their new family,” said Shinica Thomas, chair, Wake County Board of Commissioners. “The Wake County Animal Center has a fantastic rescue network and they focused on the best solution for this pair after getting custody of them. This was the best outcome we could hope for!”
By the end of the week, the duo will be arriving at a new forever home after the shelter reached out to a rescue group and a foster family they had worked with before.
Their new family has plenty of space for dogs while also having a herd of goats, the shelter said.
“Goats are social animals and so are dogs, so when they’re put together – it makes sense they would find friendship,” said Wake County Animal Center Director Dr. Jennifer Federico.
