TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A man is in custody after a shooting occurred in northwest Leon County Saturday night.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shooting around 8 p.m. Saturday on Tower Road and John Boy Lane. It was learned during the investigation that a group of people got into an argument which led to shots being fired.

One person was injured and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to LCSO.

After conducting interviews and collecting evidence, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 42-year-old Lance Dickey. He was taken into custody on the 5000 block of Pryor Court and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. Dickey is charged with one count of attempted 2nd Degree homicide, according to LCSO and the Jail’s inmate database.

It was still an active and ongoing investigation as of Sunday morning.

LCSO has asked anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (850) 606-3300. Anonymous tipsters can also contact Big Bend Crime Stoppers at (850) 574 – TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for cash rewards of $500 to 5,000 dollars if their information leads to an arrest.
