TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Tallahassee Police Department says it has made an arrest in connection to a fatal crash that occurred in April on Mission Road.

Jalacia Sims, 25, was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, DUI manslaughter, DUI and personal injury, and DUI and property damage on Friday.

TPD’s investigation revealed that, just before 12:30 a.m. on April 21, Sims was driving under the influence in the 3300 block of Mission Road,

One passenger in the two-vehicle crash, a woman, died from her injuries, and a second passenger, a child, was seriously injured, according to TPD.

Following a thorough investigation, investigators developed probable cause, and Sims was taken into custody with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
