TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Former Florida Department of Health Data Analyst Rebekah Jones has posted a video to social media saying she will run to unseat Matt Gaetz in the United States House of Representatives.

Jones posted what appears to be an announcement for an upcoming campaign on her Instagram page.

“One of the reasons I held off on making any final decisions about running for office was because that I hoped the criminal justice system would remove Matt Gaetz from Congress on its own,” she says in her video. “That is taking a very long time and none of it is certain, especially because the rich and powerful play by their own rules.

“So, if it takes me going home to Florida to run against Matt Gaetz, then I will do it,” she continued.

Her announcement comes a day after Twitter suspended her account for a violation of the platform’s rules.

As of the publication of this story, no paperwork has been filed for Jones’ run for House Seat 1.
