WCSO recovers stolen car, makes drug arrest during traffic stop
WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - Two Wakulla County men were arrested arrested Thursday following a traffic stop.
David Connell was arrested and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and attached tag not assigned to vehicle. Anthony Aldridge was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Thursday, a deputy with WCSO saw a car with tag that was covered in mud and unable to be read, though the rest of the vehicle was clean. He performed a traffic stop and identified Aldridge and Connell, who WCSO said could not provide car registration documents or any ID.
After running the tag, it was found that it registered to a car out of Georgia. WCSO ran the car’s VIN and discovered that it was reported stolen out of Polk County.
The deputy also learned that the ignition of the car had been damaged and the driver was using a saw blade to run it. Aldridge and Connell were both detained.
Upon searching the car, WCSO found suspected methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia.
Aldridge and Connell were transported to the Wakulla County Jail.
