TRAFFIC ALERT: Lanes reopened on I-75 North, ASO on scene due to a suicide

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - Update: All lanes are back open on I-75 North. Lanes were blocked on I-75 North before mile marker 392, the section between Gainesville and Alachua Thursday afternoon.
“Heavy law-enforcement presence on I-75 northbound near the Millhopper Road bridge regarding a suicide,” said Alachua County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post. “Drivers should use caution and avoid the area if at all possible. We will be providing further information as soon as it is available.”
According to ASO, they received a dispatch about someone standing on the edge of the bridge.
“He appeared distressed, several units were on route,” said Sgt. Frank Kinsey. “As a deputy arrived on scene, the deputy indicated that individual jumped from the bridge, colliding with a vehicle on the interstate. that individual that suspect was pronounced deceased. "
